Sub: Different perspectives
1 day, a father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the ctry with the express purpose of showing his son how poor ppl live. They spent a couple of days n nites on the farm of what wld be considered a very poor family.
On their return frm the trip, the father asked his son, "How was the trip?"
"It was great, Dad."
"Did u see how poor ppl live?" the father asked.
"Oh yeah," said the son.
"So tell me, what did u learn frm the trip?" asked the father.
The son answered
"I saw tt we have 1 dog n they had 4. We have a pool tt reaches to the middle of our garden n they have a creek tt has no end. We have imported lanterns in our garden n they have stars at nite. Our patio reaches to the front yard n they have the whole horizon. We have a small piece of land to live on n they have fields that go beyond our sight. We have servants who serve us, but they serve others. We buy our food, but they grow theirs. We have walls ard our property to protect us, but they have friends to protect them."
The father was speechless. Then his son added, "Thanks dad, for showing me how poor we r."
Isn't perspective a wonderful thing? Makes u wonder what wld happen if we gave thanks for everything we have, instead of worrying bout what we don't have
Learn to listen n accept other's views but not follow blindly. Ultimately, u're still the one making the decision. Be more open to other's perception but calm to ur own thinking.
