Dear Sir/Madam,
Last Saturday, on 11 March 2006, i went for your school's Fiesta 2006 at around 2pm in the afternoon with two of my friends. As i was making my way to the canteen for food, i accidentally knocked down one of your movable signboards, and in an attempt to stop it from toppling down the stairs, i kicked the base it of it, only to have it bounce right back at my face, and hitting the right side of my head, just above my eyes, at the eyebrows.
A few of the visitors around me noticed what happened, and one of them offered me tissue for me to wipe the blood. One of them, who i assume was a parent, quickly rushed to look for a SJAB booth, while helping me to look for a bench nearby to sit down. Shortly after that, rushed back down, and led me to a booth which a few SJAB members and someone else in home clothes, who i assume was a teacher, were manning. By then, my hands were more or less bloodstained, as the cut which i had was quite long and deep.
At this booth, i would like to give special mention and credit to one of your girls who helped to clean up my wound, and to apply cream onto it. I did not get a chance to ask her for her name, but i did manage to catch a glimpse of the nametag on her uniform which said "Foo".
Your SJAB girls also took the trouble to look around for a parent doctor when they could not determine how serious the wound was, and whether it would require stitches or not. When the parent-doctor arrived, she determined that it was "quite nasty", as she had put it, and told me that i had to go to a nearby hospital to get the wound stitched up, and told the teacher-in-charge to call a taxi to send me to a hospital.
When the taxi arrived, the same student, "Foo", as i had called her earlier, and a friend of hers, accompanied me and my friend out of the school gate, and into the taxi. This was on top of what other matters they had to do at the booth.
Later in the evening, after i had left Tan Tock Seng Hospital, i went back to your school in another taxi, reaching at around 5:30pm, hoping to look for the girls who were at the booth earlier to thank them for all they had did, but unfortunately, they had left. Although i tried to walk around the school campus, i still could not find any of them. During this time, i came across the parent who offered me tissue paper when the incident happened, and also asked her whether she knew where the girls were, but she was not very sure too.
I hope that you would, on my behalf, help me to thank your students, especially the one who i had singled out earlier, and the teacher-in-charge of SJAB for the training given to your girls. Without their help, i do not know how bad this injury would be by today, as i, personally, would not have gone to a hospital to get my wound checked if no one had told me to.
Thank you for your time, and i hope to hear from you soon.
Yours sincerely,
Loh Shu Han
