Fiesta/Run PD, SJAB Flag Day Update

Cadets doing Fiesta/Run PD on 28th March, 29th March, 5pm-6pm (overnight)
You are reminded to report in full-u.
We expect seasoned beret with a crest supported by backing, polished boots, ironed blouse and skirt.
Report at your respective first aid post (infirmarty, PE dept) punctually and the first aid post have to have cadets on stand-by at all times. No one is required to roam around as there are cadets in charge of it.
Ensure that the next shift's cadets have arrived before signing off for your shift.

Cadets participating in Flag Day:
You are reminded to wear the SJ Tee, Shorts and Pinafore.
Report at the SJ room 5minutes before your shift to record your attendance and collect the tins.
Report back to the SJ room to return the tin and sign off.

COMPULSORY FOR ALL SEC 3, 4S :

Casualty Simulation Course

This course offers a good knowledge with hands-on practice for trainees to simulate real-life casualties models.
During the training course, participants will be taught how to use materials to create wounds, injuries, etc.
It will be a useful skill during Mass Casualty Simulation or commonly known as Triage, where it will be more realistic for cadets to practice their first-aid skills.

Location: St.John Headquarter
Duration: 2 Sundays (One for training and the other for examination)
Dates: A minimum of 1 week advance notice would be given
Timing: Morning to mid-afternoon
Attire: School PE-Shirt with long pants
Fees: S$5 per trainee (For training materials)

Trainees who had attended and passed the 'Casualty Simulation Course' would be awarded the 'Casualty Simulation' Badge under the Cadet Proficiency Badge Scheme Group (I) -Welfare And Social.

p/s: Only the sec 3,4s are going for this course as the lecturer has requested for it, for yall might not have the sufficient first aid knowledge.

Fiesta/ Run 2008 Public Duty Shifts

You will be exempted from class duties during your shift.
Rmb to do well, behave appropriately as you are not only representing SNSJ, but SJAB as a whole.
Familiarise yourself with the first aid kit once you start your shift, but do not play with the contents afterwards.
Read up on the basic injuries esp abrasions and cuts.
Maintain good hygiene, and if you encounter any cases that you are unable to handle, feel free to contact anyone of us who are roaming around the school.
Don't forget to do the necessary documenting of the casualty's name, nric, injuries and treatment, and record down who was the one treating that casualty.
The contact no. of the stand-by-doctors will be given to you on a later day.

Returning of Flag Day Tins, Counting of Money raised for Flag Day

All labels and tins (used / unused) need to be returned to the SJ HQ by 29th March 2008, 4pm.
Upon returning of all labels / tins, a nominal roll needs to be submitted as well.
The cadets in the last shift will be following Mr Seth Tan to the SJ HQ to return the tins/labels.
Meet him at the SJ room after your shift. Yall will go in a taxi and come back in the taxi.

CPBS Update

Hello, a cadet from Australia would like to initiate a pen apl relationship with one of the cadets in Singapore.

Pen pal relationship with this overseas cadets would enable both cadets to receive the ' International Friendship ' Badge, under the Cadet Proficiency Badge Scheme Group (IV) - General.

This Pen pal relationship would include both sending of emails and snail-mails to each other.
This would require commitment as you would be communicating with the Australian cadet on a regular basis, and probably for a long period of time.

Furthermore, the cadet who get chosen for this pen pale relationship would mean she is representing Singapore's St.John.

For Sec 3s:
National Camp 2008

The National Camp 2008 organised by NPCC will be held at NPCC Camp Resilience on Pulau Ubin from 11 to 14th August 2008.

The theme - "Nurturing Youth@World Singapore" had been selected for National Camp 2008.

The camp fee is S$40.00 per participants. The fee would cover the ferry fare, 2 T-shirts and all meals for the durattion of the camp.

The Camp would be opened to Secondary 3 cadets (14 - 15 years old). The allocation for St John Ambulance Brigade is 60.

Our Zone is allocated 3 nursing and 3 ambulance cadets.

Exact reporting venue: At the basketball court at area 3, beside carpark E.

The basketball court can be visible seen on their left, they are to alight after the round about turn at the pasir ris park.
